Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment results in an increase in the linearity of the stats of a particular.
Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their value.
Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the main method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give an overall bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools and provide various bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, along with any necessary components or materials. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can cut down on the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune. Many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the item's name, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and spark curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also improve the retention of messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph has a set of values that it could improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are enchanting.
Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you wish to remove a glyph from an item you must salvage it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.
When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards that are part of that glyph will disappear. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to give it a bonus. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who suffer many hits from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If item upgrader scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolling is a fantastic method to improve an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This effect is most noticeable on Diadems and Rings, since they have no other options to increase the ilvl.
The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items that would allow them to change their build without spending too much time and effort. However the paid rerolls aren't something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add the ability for players to change their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the upgrade value for any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for the stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is important to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. Most of the time the best roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also chances for higher or more special rolls. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a special kind of item, it has a chance of gaining a higher level.
Upgrading items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on its base iLevel as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to reach the next level.
If you're lucky your upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
The iLevel will also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an outstanding one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
