Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an added bonus or impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. item upgrade , which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from earlier versions. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of these items, rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
Once an item has been leveled out and is leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will have lower chances of success.
Engineers use a level in order to measure the height of the building to an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a very important aspect of the game and can increase the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you could receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or a negative thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also features various sets which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling is a way to get a more powerful character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and reach higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can be of different sizes, have none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the item's stats much in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To see if item upgrading is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the character screen. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
